"Did ya see that hawk after those hens? He scared 'em! That Rhode Island Red turned white, then blue. Rhode Island, red white and blue! That's a joke, son, a flag-waver! You're built too low. The fast ones go over your head. Ya got a hole in your glove. I keep pitchin' 'em and you keep missin' 'em! Ya gotta keep your eye on the ball! Eye. Ball. Eyeball! I almost had a gag, son--a joke, that is!"
-Foghorn Leghorn.

Artist Statement:
I have been creating art all my life. My dad is also an artist so I was exposed to art as a young child and was always encouraged in any creative endeavor. Honestly I cant imagine doing anything else with my life. Art is my main passion. If I'm not painting I'm thinking about painting.
I would have to say that my work focuses around the fantasy realm. I am very influenced by fairy tales, nursery rhymes, symbolism and my own dreams. I have extremely vivid nightmares and dreams. A lot of the themes and symbols from my dream world make their way into my artwork. Sometimes though I just like to paint something that makes me happy and doesn't really have any deep meaning, just depends on my mood. Of course I am influenced by tons of other things like the natural world, music, poetry, fashion, popular culture, foreign cultures etc.
Primarily I use acrylics thinned with water and paint in thin layers. Sometimes I also work with watercolor, ink or just pencil. I paint on many different surfaces such as canvas, wood, hardboard panels, and paper. Really it just depends on what I feel like using or what idea I have for a specific painting. My favorite surface to paint on is the perfectly smooth hard board, I think it works best for my painting technique.
